The efforts of NIA Tando Jam have been successful in pushing forward the peaceful application of nuclear techniques in the field of agriculture. The NIA is working as pioneer agriculture establishment of PAEC striving for the food security of the country and to improve socio-economic conditions of farming community. NIA has contributed tremendously by evolving high yielding, disease resistant, drought, salinity and climate resilient varieties in different major and minor crops, insect and pest management through bio-control technologies, plant nutrition and water management. NIA has successfully released number of improved varieties of different crop plants for the farming community in Sindh province of Pakistan. These varieties have substantial share in area and economy of the province. The institute has been providing high quality pre-basic seed to the farmers every year. NIA has introduced mass rearing of beneficial predatory insects to control the insect pests of various crops through biocontrol and eco-friendly management techniques. Bio-control laboratories have been established all over the province to encourage eco-friendly techniques to control diseases/pests. NIA scientists have close contact with the growers and organizing “Farmers’ Days”, field days, seminars, workshops etc. to create awareness and disseminate new technology among the growers. We are committed to improve country’s economy by providing quality products and services and develop HR to play their role.
